What We Do

Established in April 2014, Alford Conferences Limited is an event production company and a consulting firm that advises the Nigerian and African public sector on subnational revenue generation, agribusiness development, export promotion, strategic investment promotion, host country/host city marketing, pan-African trade, etc. The company operates in five divisions: government economic development advisory services, corporate communication consulting, event production, specialized publishing, and event publicity.

GOVERNMENT ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY SERVICES
We advise national and state/provincial governments on strategic economic development mandates: export promotion, investment promotion, host country/host state event bidding services, nation/state branding, etc.

CORPORATE COMMUNICATION CONSULTING
We advise national and subnational governments as well as discerning companies, throughout Nigeria and the rest of Africa, on corporate communications, event management, host country promotion and host city promotion, etc. We are able to design and implement various projects for these public and private sector organizations in these areas, taking a cue from our past service deliveries.

EVENT PRODUCTION
In September 2020 we launched the annual World Digital Exhibition (WORLDEX) and the annual Nigerian States IGR Awards. IGR means internally generated revenue. From 2020 till date we have successfully birthed the following events:

  • World Digital Exhibition (WORLDEX), now in its 5th annual edition. WORLDEX is a technology trade fair that seeks to link up Africa more effectively with the global tech community.
  • Nigerian States IGR Awards, now in its 5th annual edition. IGR stands for internally generated revenue. The event seeks to spur a healthy competition among Nigeria’s 37 subnational governments towards transforming their taxation systems and substantially raising the amount that they generate from internal sources, outside the monthly allocations that they receive from the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN). The awards program is held as a nationwide roadshow annually. From inception till date, we have presented this award to the internal revenue service (IRS) of 23 states across the six zones of Nigeria. During this period, the event has taken us to the IRS of the following states: Lagos and Ogun (South West); Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa and Kebbi (North West); Borno, Gombe and Yobe (North East); Benue, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger and Plateau (North Central); Rivers (South-South); and Anambra, Enugu and Imo (South East).
  • Public Sector Excellence (PSE) Award. There are several negative conversations and narratives about Nigeria today in the local, and especially the foreign media. Our country is general perceived as inept and corrupt. Some of these narratives are true, well-founded and justified. Yet simple commonsense tells us that no individual, company, organization or country is so terrible that you wouldn’t find some things that are right with him/her or it. So despite the many negatives about Nigeria, what are some things that are good about this country, especially about the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) and the government of the 36 states? Finding an answer to this question is what led our team at Alford Conferences Limited to conceive and design PSE Award, an initiative that recognizes unquestionable excellence in the ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of the FGN and the states that make up the federation. Periodically, we identify and recognize genuine excellence in any one of these federal and state MDAs. Then we honour and celebrate the head of such an MDA.
  • In 2024, we plan to launch the annual Nigeria Food Surplus Summit. We will add other events to this list in 2024/2025: Dublin Digital Government Awards, EMEA Banking Awards, Nigeria Market Leadership Award, Accra Business Forum (ABF), Banking Africa100 Awards, etc.

SPECIALIZED PUBLISHING
Established in July 2020, REVENUE supports a rapid and sustainable integration of the 54 economies of Africa. The e-magazine typically recognizes, honours and celebrates excellence, leadership, achievement and good governance in both the public and private sectors of Nigeria and Africa as a whole. It is the official magazine of all the branded events of Alford Conferences Limited. Though it is primarily an event-based publication, REVENUE seeks to be a respected editorial voice on the few clearly defined subjects that it covers. The print version of the publication is circulated mainly at our events. The e-copy is uploaded regularly as a downloadable PDF document on www.alfordevents.com.

EVENT PUBLICITY
The event publicity division offers media coverage (in social media, news websites, newspapers, TV, and radio) for clients. From our inception in 2014 till date, we have offered this service to many clients in Abuja, Lagos and other locations across Nigeria. We also have a rich experience in providing various event management support services in foreign markets for Nigerian clients, as well as in Nigeria for foreign clients.
